Nursing

AIAM offers both a Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing program. Both are designed to prepare you for nursing careers grounded in a holistic nursing philosophy. Students can start their career in nursing with our Practical Nursing program or choose to advance their current career as an LPN by training to be an RN. Many students choose to complete both courses with our 1 + 1 Nursing Education Program.

Practical Nursing Program

The Practical Nursing education program at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine (AIAM) was developed through an interdisciplinary approach to incorporate both the latest in scientific knowledge and an awareness of Complementary/Alternative Medicine (CAM) recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH). Founded in holistic nursing philosophy, this 12-month, competency-based program introduces students to the in-demand field of nursing and prepares them for fast-paced, demanding medical environments. Graduates of the LPN program are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN for licensure in Ohio. Practical Nursing graduates from AIAM may choose to continue their nursing education (after passing the NCLEX-PN) into our advanced placement RN program. You can be working as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), gaining valuable work experience in nursing, while attending the second year of nursing to achieve your Associate degree in nursing!

Registered Nursing Program

The Registered Nursing education program at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine (AIAM) is designed to incorporate both the latest in scientific knowledge and an awareness of Complementary/Alternative Medicine (CAM) recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH). Our 15-month advanced placement RN program, founded in a holistic nursing philosophy, can prepare you to provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. Applicants for this program must be current LPNs in Ohio.

Graduates of our Registered Nursing program are awarded an Associate degree of Applied Science and are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN for licensure in Ohio. Our 1 + 1 approach to achieving your licensure in registered nursing allows you to be working as an LPN during the RN program to gain valuable workplace experience while completing your Associate degree at the same time!
